Officiating Clinics / Training as an Official
Officiating Overview
To officiate at swim meets, you must register as an official annually with Swim Canada. Registering creates (new official) or reactivates (returning official):
- Your personal Officials account in REMS
- Your personal LMS account
Logging into your Offcials account, you can:
- Log into your LMS account
- To register for and complete officiating clinics
- Track certifications and clinic history
- Keep track of swim meets you've worked by maintaining your deck log.
After you complete officiating clinics, you can:
- Log into your Cascade account to sign up as an official for Cascade hosted swim meets
Register as a Swim Canada Official
If you are not registered as an official and/or do not have an officials account with Swim Canada, follow these instructions:

- New Officials:

- After completing an officiating clinic
- Swim meet sign up
- For Timer and Safety Marshal clinics:
- You may immediately sign up to work as a Timer or Timer Relief at Cascade-hosted swim meets.
- No shadow shift is required or offered.
- For all other clinics:
- You must request and complete one shadow shift first before signing up to work independently in that new role.
