Shadow Shifts
Shadow Shifts
A shadow shift is your first on-deck experience after completing a clinic for any new officiating role (except Timer or Safety Marshal).
You work alongside an experienced official at a Cascade-hosted swim meet.
This helps you gain confidence and practical experience in the role before working independently.
Shadow shifts are required for all roles except:
Timer
Safety Marshal
To request a shadow shift, email our Officials Scheduling Coordinator.
